Have matching pair of original early 20th-century antique cast brass or bronze elevator call button plates. Each plate features raised rectangular borders, embossed text reading “UP” and “DOWN” with two central mechanical push buttons. One call button plate looks cleaned up through out the years and the other show original patina and many coats of paint with visible oxidation, surface tarnish, scratches, and scuffs, dings with old paint flaking. Both have there dings and wear from age and use but still looks great. No mounting screws or rear mechanical wiring assemblies are included.
Measures 3″ wide x 8″ tall and just plate is x 5/8″ thick. Nice weight at 1 1/2 pounds each. Buttons and contacts seem to push in and spring out good. Clean up the other and have a exceptional pair for display or restore and use.
Has scratches, scuffs, stains, tarnishing verdigris, paint splatter, dings, nice Patina showing good age and still looks Awesome! What makes these unusual is a matching pair. Cool historic find worthy of a proper finish restoration or leave original as found.
Guessing made 1920’s-1930’s. Cool Old Elevator Company Call Buttons!!
